Team Match Play
Team Match Play is a team-based head-to-head format where players are grouped into teams of 2-4. Each week, teams face off and every player plays an individual match play round against an opponent from the opposing team. The team score is the sum of all individual match points, plus an optional sweep bonus.
How It Works
The manager creates teams of 2-4 players from the Teams tab. Teams can be auto-assigned or set manually.
Each week, RoundBoss pairs teams against each other. Within each team matchup, individual 1v1 pairings are created by handicap (best vs. best).
Each player enters scores for their individual match. Scoring works exactly like regular Match Play -- hole-by-hole points with handicap strokes applied.
After all individual matches are submitted, team scores are calculated by summing member match points.
If one team wins every individual match in the matchup, that team earns a configurable sweep bonus (default: 3 points).
Sweep Bonus
The sweep bonus rewards dominant team performance. When every player on your team wins their individual match, the team earns bonus points.
The default sweep bonus is 3 points. Managers can adjust this value in Settings. RoundBoss auto-calculates the sweep after the final match in a team matchup is submitted, and recalculates if any score is corrected.
When no sweep occurs (each team wins at least one match), no bonus is awarded.
Leaderboards
Team Match Play tracks two leaderboards:
- Team leaderboard (default) -- Teams ranked by total points across all weeks, including sweep bonuses. Your team is highlighted.
- Individual leaderboard -- All players ranked by their personal match play points, independent of team results.
Toggle between views using the tab selector on the leaderboard page.

Sortable Columns
Click any column header on the team leaderboard to sort by that column. Click again to toggle between ascending and descending order. This applies to both the team and individual leaderboard views.
Matchup Resolution
When all individual matches within a team matchup are submitted, RoundBoss automatically resolves the team matchup result:
- Team points are calculated by summing individual match points for each team
- Sweep detection runs automatically — if one team won every individual match, the sweep bonus is awarded
- If any score is later corrected, the team totals and sweep status are recalculated automatically
No manual action is needed to finalize team matchup results.
Fun Weeks
Fun weeks work with Team Match Play. During fun weeks, team pairings are made by average team handicap (best team vs. worst team) instead of the regular matchup mode. Individual pairings within teams follow the standard handicap-based order.
