Clubs and Competitions
Clubs and competitions give managers a way to organize events beyond weekly league play. A club groups related competitions together, and a competition is a standalone event with its own rounds, participants, scoring, and leaderboard.

A club is an optional organizational layer. You can create multiple clubs to represent different groups, venues, or event series.

Competitions
A competition is a multi-round event tied to a manager account. Each competition has its own participants, rounds, scoring formats, and leaderboard.

Rounds
Each competition contains one or more rounds. A round represents a single day of play.

Participants
Players are added to a competition as participants. Each participant has a role and status.
Participant Roles

Round Formats
Each round can have one or more scoring formats assigned. This determines how scores are calculated for that round.
Standard stroke play — lowest net score wins.
Points-based scoring — higher is better.
Team format — best individual score on each hole.
Team format — all players play from the best shot.
Team format — players alternate shots on each hole.
Scoring
Scores are submitted per participant, per round. The manager enters hole-by-hole gross scores and RoundBoss calculates net totals, stableford points, and other metrics using the scoring engine.
- Scores can be updated until the round is locked
- The scoring engine uses course par data when a course is assigned to the round
Competition Leaderboard
Each competition has its own leaderboard that aggregates scores across all rounds.
How Ranking Works
- Players are ranked by lowest cumulative net score (stroke play style)
- Ties are broken by lowest cumulative gross score
- The leaderboard updates automatically when scores are submitted
- Managers can manually trigger a Recalculate to rebuild the leaderboard from scratch

Ryder Cup / Team Competitions
Competitions also support a team-based format modeled after the Ryder Cup. Two teams compete across multiple rounds with different match types.
Match Types
| Match Type | Description |

| Singles | One-on-one matches between players from opposing teams |
| Fourballs | Two-player teams, each plays their own ball, best score counts |
| Foursomes | Two-player teams alternate shots on each hole |
Each team has a name, optional color, and a roster of participants. Team captains can be designated. Results are tracked per match with points awarded to the winning team (1 point for a win, 0.5 for a halve).
Troubleshooting
"Club not found" — You can only manage clubs you created. Verify you are logged into the correct manager account.
"Round is locked" — Scores cannot be edited for locked rounds. Unlock the round from the round settings before submitting changes.
