Pricing
How much does RoundBoss cost?
It depends on who you are:
- Solo Player — free.
- Clubhouse (independent league managers) — $10 per player seat, active for one year from purchase, up to 52 weeks of play. Add seats for $10 each through your existing renewal date; renew yearly. No monthly fees.
- Golf Course Starter — $799 per 6-month Season Pass or $1,188 per year. One location, up to 10 leagues, up to 4 simulator bays, unlimited players.
- Golf Course Pro — $1,599 per Season Pass or $2,388 per year. Unlimited leagues and bays, broadcast messaging to every golfer, your logo on player pages, priority support.
Additional locations are 20% off (contact [email protected]). There is no monthly plan. Golf Course plans have no per-seat fees for linked leagues. See Billing and Season Pass & Annual Plans.
How long does my league stay active?
Each seat is active for one full year from your payment date. Coverage is a full year from payment — it does not depend on how many weeks you schedule. Renew each year for $10 per seat to start a fresh 365 days.
What happens if I add more weeks?
Adding weeks does not affect billing at all. You can configure up to 52 weeks of play per paid year. Only buying seats costs money — scheduling weeks is free.
What if I add a player mid-season?
Add a seat anytime for $10. The new seat is covered through your existing renewal date — there is no proration.
Is there a minimum number of players?
No. You can run a league with as few as 2 players. There is no maximum either — RoundBoss scales to leagues of any size.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. New manager accounts start with a 14-day free trial (up to 4 players, 1 league) with full access to league features — simulator features require a Golf Course plan. Your first league is activated automatically during the trial; there is no payment step in the wizard.
Can my Clubhouse league use GSPro?
No. Simulator features — the Bridge, GSPro live scoring, kiosk check-in, and the TV leaderboard — are included with the Golf Course Starter and Pro facility plans. Clubhouse leagues are outdoor / manual-scoring leagues. In the wizard, the Simulator option is locked until your account owns a facility with an active plan; set up your facility under Golf Course Mode to unlock it.
League Setup
How many leagues can one manager run?
There is no limit. A single manager account can create and manage multiple leagues, each with its own players, schedule, and leaderboard.
Can I have a co-manager?
Yes. Each league supports one co-manager with configurable permissions. See Co-Manager for details.
Can I change the number of weeks mid-season?
Yes. You can add more weeks at any time, up to 52 weeks per paid year. Adding weeks does not affect billing — your coverage runs one year from your payment date regardless of how many weeks you schedule.
Scoring
What formats does RoundBoss support?
RoundBoss supports seven league formats — Match Play, Stroke, Stableford, Best Ball, Scramble, Alternate Shot, and Team Match Play — plus an Outing mode for single-day events. You can also enable optional skins and low net prizes. See Scoring Rules for details on each format.
What is Team Match Play?
Teams of 2–4 players face off each week. Every player plays individual head-to-head match play against an opponent from the other team. The team score is the sum of all individual match points, plus an optional sweep bonus when your team wins every match. See Team Match Play for full details.
What is Golf Outing mode?
Golf Outing mode is for single-day events like corporate outings, charity tournaments, and casual group rounds. Choose Scramble, Stroke, or Stableford scoring, and optionally enable side games — Closest to Pin, Longest Drive, and Skins. For scramble outings you can auto-generate random teams. See Golf Outing for full details.
Are the scoring values fixed?
No. All point values — hole win, push, bonus, per-match cap, and makeup cap — are configurable by the league manager from the Settings tab. See Scoring Configuration.
How are handicaps calculated?
Each league picks one of three handicap methods: rolling_average (the default), established (a static seed handicap that doesn't change), or whs (a WHS index from course rating and slope). For the rolling-average method, the window is state-based — it averages the player's last N played results (a score or a miss), default 5, rather than calendar weeks, so pre-generated future weeks never affect the average. The window size and the stroke multiplier are configurable. See Handicap and Strokes.
What happens when a player misses a week?
The present player earns points by playing against the course card. The absent player receives the league's flat miss points (default 0) and enters the makeup queue to earn partial points through a makeup round the next time they play. Both are capped by max misses per season (default 4): the first 4 misses earn miss points and a makeup round; the 5th and later misses earn 0 points and no makeup. Leagues can instead turn on Use average for misses, which scores the present player against the absent player's rolling average (the absent player gets 0). See Play the Card and Makeup Rounds.
Can players enter their own scores?
Yes, when the manager allows it. The per-league Allow Player Score Edits setting (allow_player_score_edits) is on by default, which lets players enter and edit their own scores. GSPro-finalized rounds and locked weeks are always manager-only. Managers and authorized co-managers can enter scores at any time.
Player Access
Do players need to create an account?
No. Each player receives a unique link and QR code from their manager. Tapping the link opens their personal dashboard with no login required.
What if a player loses their link?
The manager can find any player's unique link and QR code on the league management page and resend it.
Does the app work on all phones?
RoundBoss works in any modern mobile browser — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. There is no app to download.
Data and Privacy
Who can see player scores?
All players in a league can see the leaderboard and schedule. Individual scorecards are visible to both players in a match and to the manager.
Can I delete my league or account?
Yes. Managers can delete individual leagues or their entire account from the dashboard. Deleting a league removes all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
