Flighting
Flighting groups players into divisions based on handicap range, so players compete against others of similar skill level.
How It Works
Flights are handicap-based divisions within your league. Each flight has a name and a handicap range (minimum and maximum). Players are automatically assigned to the appropriate flight based on their handicap.
Define handicap ranges for each flight. Players are assigned automatically based on their current handicap.
When flights are created or updated, players are re-sorted into the correct division automatically.
View overall standings or drill into a specific flight to see divisional rankings.
Players see their flight assignment as a badge on the roster for easy identification.
Setting Up Flights
Open your league and go to Settings.
Scroll to the Flighting section in settings.
Click Add Flight to create a new division. Enter a name (e.g., "A Flight", "Championship") and set the handicap range.
Repeat for additional flights. Make sure ranges do not overlap.
Auto-Assignment
When you create or update flights, RoundBoss automatically assigns each player to the correct flight based on their current handicap. For flight assignment, the handicap source priority is:
- GHIN Index (if connected)
- WHS Handicap (calculated from scores)
- Established handicap (manually entered)
handicap_method). See Handicap and Strokes.Leaderboard Filtering
The leaderboard supports filtering by flight. Players and managers can view overall standings or drill into a specific flight to see divisional rankings.
Flight Badges
Players see their flight assignment as a badge on the roster, making it easy to identify which division everyone belongs to.
